A Couple of Rhymes

The clock rings five and so I rise,
With the strength of a spartan in his prime.

The clock rings six and still I persist,
The sun rises even though the moon resists.

The clock rings seven and the moon returns to heaven,
The sun shines brighter than my most beautiful blessings.

The clock rings eight and I eat something great,
Energy for the day is all it takes.

The clock rings nine and I feel divine,
I walk outside and the weather is sublime.

The clock rings ten and I call my friends,
Some are awake and some pretend. . . to be asleep.

The clock rings eleven and I change the settin’
Walking with confidence in the desired direction.

The clock rings twelve and welcome to hell,
The sun is on my back and it’s just as well.
