Girl Made Of Wind

I focus my arrow as I pull my sin,
Summoning the greater strength
Within. Listening to the trees as
They sway in the breeze and the
Loud thuds of animals falling to
Their knees.

The sun is out without a cloud in the
Sky and the weather is fair but, to my
Surprise, I see a figure in the distance
With a gorgeous shape and methinks it
Be a woman I could easily take.

My bow is focused and my sin is taut,
My arrow is ready for anything that ought,
Come into view, unaware and unafraid as
Its life lay in my hands, ripe for me to take.

No game shows but the girl remains,
Something’s different about her, she
Seems not to sway with the wind but
Has become the wind itself, she zigs and
Zags and flashes and dashes. She goes fast,
Faster, faster then fastest, my eyes can’t follow,
She has a speed that matches Hermes sending message
To the king of gods, she whooshes past me but something
Is odd, I feel no wind, catch whiff of nothing but sweat
Drips from my brow and my heart is pumping. Game shows
Itself and I pull my sin, and, as I’m ready to fire a massive gust
Of wind skews my trajectory, making it difficult to aim, and by
The time I’m able to right my arrow, the game has gotten away.

Tis hours before game shows again and I can ready my bow
And arrow as I descend from a very tall tree to avoid the
Stampede of a wild boar that seems to have it out for me.
The wind in that time has come and gone and the girl I
Saw is no more, now methinks nothing can go wrong unless
He wind comes as before. I ready my bow and focus my arrow,
My stomach growls and time is narrow, I must attain food quickly
Or face imminent peril my stomach has a tendency to go feral.

The hour is nigh and the moment of truth arrives, will I attain
Some game for face peril and die? The question races through
My mind along with a strange and demonic lullaby,
The wind had returned and it blows all around me, the
Lullaby becomes louder and its beauty astounds me,
The melody plays in my ears and the breeze kisses my
Skin draining away the strength I’ve summoned from within.
Along my arms and up my neck, the sweat of my brow is wiped
Away and cool, soft and smooth hands caress my face and my
Vision blurs, the last thought I have before the wind takes me
Is of that melodious lullaby being sung in my ear ever so
Gracefully.
