A Twisted Love Affair

Everything changed when you walked in
Blissfully unaware
You met with your friends at the back table
And started talking
Everyone says life isn’t fair, I don’t know if it’s true
But if there was a definition of fair
It’d have to be you

Three months in and everything is amazing
You see me, and I see you
The feeling of your lips touching mine is exhilarating
You breathing me, and I, breathing you

A bed of roses is my chosen symbol of love
Life couldn’t be any fairer
I walk in to find you with someone else
The pure terror
The lively and vibrate heart filled with the love I felt
Turned black at my grievous error
Seems your affair was going well

It all meant nothing to you
But, for some reason, I stayed
My broken and distressed heart is proof
That this is a love only you can save

Six months pass, and all is forgiven
My eyes become cold, even listless
My heart rejects the love you give
Hatred is the ingredient on which it now lives

I hear the door open, and I’m elated
You come home at eight
You just made it
You discover me and another woman in bed
I mouth the words ‘life isn’t fair’
But I know you’ll stay
Because when I look into your eyes
I see a woman
A woman who craves
A twisted love affair
